Long and narrow neck circulator made of Pyrex glass with a capacity of 1 liter

Let’s examine the circulator with a narrow and long neck. Its shape is not accidental: the elongated neck constitutes a precise operational sign that suggests the nature of the material destined to circulate within it.

This instrument, used both in Spagyria (or Spagyria) and in Alchemy, consists of a long-necked vase completed by a blind head. It is designed to accommodate light, thin and highly volatile substances, which require a sufficiently extended vertical path to be able to perform their natural separation and purification. The long upward journey allows matter to progressively distinguish its finer components, favoring their elevation.

In particular, the long collar facilitates the separation of the four elements present in the matter, with particular regard to the two upper elements:

  • Fire, fiery principle, vital and transformative energy.
  • Air, subtle principle, breath, movement and vehicle of the most volatile parts.

For this reason, the long-neck circulator is particularly suitable for all operations involving Philosophical or vegetable Mercury, whose nature is extremely thin and volatile. In Spagyria, for example, it is used to circulate ethyl alcohol on suitably purified barrel tartar or on calcium oxide, in order to obtain spagyric alcohol. Its high structure allows plant mercury to circulate regularly and completely, an indispensable condition for the matter to be progressively refined.

More generally, all substances characterized by a marked volatility find the most suitable container in the long and narrow neck circulator, since its particular conformation favors the ascension, condensation and continuous recirculation of the thinnest parts. It thus becomes an authentic instrument of elevation, a vessel that accompanies matter along its own process of purification and sublimation, allowing the spirit to manifest itself according to the ancient alchemical vision.

The circulator presented here is handcrafted in Pyrex glass, a material particularly suitable for withstanding the thermal stresses required by spagyric and alchemical operations.
