Notes: The hydroalcoholic solution was carried out with the alchemical spagyric method of Solanimus (TSA) which includes all the phases of classical spagyria with the final addition of a specific phase of alchemical philosophy. Spagyria and alchemy have come together to get the best out of the plant. The TSA of Uncaria tomentosa it is obtained by macerating the inner part of the bark of the roots and the base of the stem of the adult plant, just harvested in its balsamic period (before flowering of the plant), in a solution consisting of spagyric alcohol and water, following the Spagyric-Alchemical method of Solanimus. The plant contains an alkaloid fraction, a polyphenolic fraction, quinovic acid glycosides and other substances. Uncaria has a wide spectrum of activity and is effective against a whole range of inflammatory problems, from ulcers to arthritis to rheumatism. Uncaria has always been used by Amazonian curanderos as an immunostimulator. Uncaria tomentosa comes from the forests of the North-West of the Amazon where it grows spontaneously at altitudes between 400 and 800 meters above sea level. Its immunostimulant and immunomodulatory action is given by the alkaloid fraction and is substantially expressed through an increased phagocytic activity by the macrophages of the reticuloendothelial system, also increase the T4 and NK cells (Natural Killer). The anti-inflammatory action is given by the glycosides of quinovic acid contained in the plant. Moreover, thanks to the polyphenolic fraction, the plant also has an antioxidant and antimutagenic action and therefore useful in the prevention of degenerative diseases. The antimutagenic action is carried out at the level of DNA-polymerase, inhibiting the proliferation of abnormal cells. An overdose may cause diarrhoea, reduce the dosage to eliminate the side effect. It is advisable to limit the use during pregnancy and lactation for a probable action on the uterine muscles and lactation.
